TATHRA RURAL FIRE BRIGADE

STATION DOORS

Since our last AGM we have also had something of what you might call a renaissance taking place at the shed. I’m referring of course to the artwork on our station doors, created and painted by artiste in residence Lance Hartley. Lance was up the ladder day after day — I used to give him a supportive toot as I drove by — attending to his creation, and with great effect. I’ve heard lots of complimentary comments about the murals from the public, most of them saying they liked the humorous tone. The station is in a pretty prominent position as you come into town and I think the artwork helps to convey the image that we are serious about our business, but don’t take ourselves too seriously. So well done Lance — and thanks too to the creators of the Ettamoggah pub cartoons.
