And The Winner Is ...

Adam Wiggins, Captain of the Tathra Volunteer Rural Fire Brigade, presents Trish Goodwin with an iPad, one of the prizes in a draw held following the Open Day at the Tathra Fire Station recently

Trish Goodwin of Wallagoot got more than she bargained for when she attended the Open Day at the Tathra Fire Station recently. On the one hand she says she learnt a lot about what she needs to do to prepare for bushfires this summer. On the other, her name went into the draw for a range of prizes, including an iPad. And, as luck would have it, she won it!

This week Adam Wiggins, Captain of the Tathra Volunteer Rural Fire Brigade, presented Trish with the iPad at the station. No stranger to computers, Trish said she would pass on her ‘old iPad’ to her husband Terry and waste no time in ‘syncing’ her new one to her iPhone.

Mrs Goodwin was among the more than 100 people who visited the joint Tathra-Tanja Open Day, held in conjunction with the NSW Rural Fire Service’s Get Ready Weekend last month. Tathra’s efforts to promote the Open Day and ‘Get Ready’ message were enthusiastically supported by a range of local business with sponsored voucher prizes. They included:

  • The Tathra Hotel,
  • Sapphire Coast Golf School,
  • Big W,
  • Tathra Enhance Fuel,
  • Fat Tony’s,
  • Woolworths,
  • Stafford’s,
  • Tathra Friendly Grocers,
  • Tathra Cellars,
  • Tathra Newsagency,
  • Mimosa Meats,
  • Cliff Place,
  • Tathra Beachside and
  • Coles Bega.
