Brigade takes delivery of new 4 WD Category 1 tanker which replaces the Category 2 tanker.

January - Brigade members attend fires at Merimbula
Tathra Country Club donate $10,000 towards the building of the new station.

3rd May - Tathra Brigade attends Old Bega Hospital fire, Bega.
2002
14th June - Bega Fire Control Centre at a cost of $300,000 is officially opened.
Tathra's main fire engine is replaced by a new Category 2 tanker.
